The first compromise of our trip was this morning when we left Whitby at eleven-thirty instead of Ruthy's 6 AM today or Tony's 6 AM Monday. It was a great day with perfect weather for driving and very little traffic. It was far easier than battling rush hour traffic into Toronto. We did see a woman walking along the eastbound express lanes in Scarboro quite a distance from her broken down van. I have no idea how she would ever get anywhere from the middle of 401 so I hope someone stopped to pick her up and deliver her safely out of the way of traffic.
We stopped at Tim Horton's around Woodstock about 1:30 and about 2:15 a stone hit our windshield and created a rather large chip but hopefully it won't get any worse. We crossed at Sarnia about three-fifteen and stopped for gas on the US side where it was about .70 Cdn. At 5:30 we stopped for coffee around Lansing MI and we arrived at Benton Harbor about 7:30.
We are doing this blog to be a journal for us and not as an exciting trip the world would be interested in hearing about.
Michigan's speed limit is 70 which was great and helped us reach this distance after our late start. Tomorrow we cross into the next time zone so we will gain an hour. Today we travelled 739 Kilometres. As usual the highways with the wide medians are so nice and the scenery was very pleasant and peaceful.
