Day Fifteen

Today is another day of perfect weather in Vancouver. We had breakfast at the condo and then we walked over to the Edgewater Casino and played a few 2 cent machines. Between us we lost five dollars this morning; me a few cents and Tony the rest but on our return later today we stopped again and I won it and a bit more back. We took the water taxi over to Granville Island and wandered around the Market for quite a while and then we took a water taxi to the Aquatic Centre and then another one back Yaletown, etc. back to the casino again. There are some fabulous yachts here. There is a hockey game tonight and people are already starting to line up around GM Place.

We were talking to Allison and Tom Simpson today, our friends from Regina that we talk to a couple of times a year. They just got back last night from what sounds like a fabulous train trip from Edinburgh up through the Highlands. The train stops every evening for drinks, etc. about five and then dinner at eight and the train stays put until the next morning. The maximum number for the trip is thirty-six.

We have walked miles today so will probably stay in tonight to give our feet a chance to recover. We must have spoken to at least twenty people, in the grocery store, at the casino, at the library, etc. and with the exception of a couple in a kayak who asked us to take their photo every person has been from Ontario originally. The kayakers were from Brazil. It doesn't seem to matter what the age of people is but they all seem to travel by skateboard or roller blades. There are some super little convertibles around here which look more appealing to me.

  1. Fabulous photos. Your trip sounds like so much fun. Happy Thanksgiving. We arrived back from an island cottage in Georgian Bay and experienced terrible weather. I thought I would never see urban land again. It sounds like you two got out of the Prairies before the snow hit.
Also, so wonderful that you are seeing so many people.
    Cheers
