I spoke to Diane and Philip this morning. They wanted us to go up to Powell River but it is too far. They were just leaving to go to their place on Savary Island for the weekend. It is about a half hour drive and then a ten minute water taxi ride. Philip has done so well with his singing and was the soloist in Cornwall, UK last year and won two silver medals at something big here. He has a CD out now that is getting lots of coverage on CBC. It would be fun to see them but maybe they will come down to Ontario, especially if he gets a gig there. When we get back to the condo today I will try to make contact with the other cousins and friends here. In the meantime I am trying to figure out how to do this blog properly.

Days Twelve and Thirteen
We left Kelowna after breakfast at nine yesterday morning and stopped in Merritt for coffee to see if I could access our email. We had lunch in Abbotsford so Tony could experience the White Spot and then we came into Vancouver. This is the greatest location ever for a condo-I would be happy to just continue here just so I could watch the activity down below. It is a fabulous complex with three buildings and we are between the BC sports complex and GM Place and we look out on the geodesic dome of the science place and the Edgewater Casino. The lights are absolutely spectacular and I can't capture them so well on my camera.

Congratulations on amazing progress in blogging!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of people & places.
You obviously got the blog up and going! We now have white stuff on the ground vs the frost on the windows when you left. Flowers are all frozen and the winds were so strong that the leaves are spread all over the streets and lawns. Your timing for leaving was superb!
ReplyDeleteViews are specatacular in the downtown area of Vancouver and there are so many neat eating places. You have to go to Urban fare (not really sure of the name), but it is right across the street from the train engine and within walking distance. Having lunch there or taking it home is a must!! I will find out from Cam!
